The E-Shooter UK-ES-V401 is a standard 18:1 gear set for Version 2 AEG gearboxes. This ratio sits in the middle of the spectrum—it's not chasing maximum rate of fire like a 16:1 speed set, and it's not built for heavy-spring torque like a 32:1. For most field builds running M100 to M120 springs, 18:1 gives you snappy trigger response without overstressing the motor or battery.
Steel construction matters. These are full steel gears, not the stamped or hybrid sets that show up on budget builds. Steel handles the load from upgraded springs and resists the tooth wear that turns a crisp trigger into a grinding mess. If your gearbox is making that high-pitched whine or the trigger feels mushy, worn gears are usually the culprit.
What's in the box. You get the three gears that actually see stress: bevel, spur, and sector. The piston and cylinder stay separate, as do the motor and switch. This is the core rotating group that you swap when the old set is shot or when you're building a gearbox from scratch.
Installation notes. You'll need to shim the gears properly after install—gear sets don't come pre-shimmed, and bad shimming is the most common cause of a noisy gearbox. A thin layer of grease on the gear teeth helps break-in and reduces wear. If you're running 11.1V or a heavy spring, make sure your gearbox has a MOSFET; the extra current from higher voltage or torque loads will burn out trigger contacts without one.
Compatibility. This set fits standard Version 2 gearbox shells—the M4, MP5, G3, and most western platforms. It won't fit V3 (AK-style), V6 (P90), or proprietary shells like the V2.5 hybrids. If your gearbox isn't a V2, you need a different gear set.
What this is not. This isn't a complete gearbox rebuild. You'll still need a piston, cylinder, spring, motor, and switch if those are worn or if you're building up from nothing. It's also not a solution for a cracked shell or damaged bearing—those are separate failures that gears won't fix.
