Lancer Tactical
The PJ-style helmet is a staple in airsoft because it does one thing well: it gives you an NVG mount without turning your head into a ballistic target. The Lancer Tactical version hits the middle ground between price and build, and the medium/large size covers the wider half of head sizes, so check it against yours if you're on the edge.
NVG shroud and side rail adapters. The package includes the integrated helmet shroud, which mounts to the front of the shell and gives you a platform for a monocular or dual-tube night vision device. A built-in bungee loop keeps the NVG locked in when you're running. The included side rail adapters clip onto the helmet and sit parallel to your line of sight, which is where you'd mount a small IR light or a camera rather than something that blocks your field of view.
Fit and comfort. The shell is PVC polymer, which is light and cheap to make but does the job for skirmish play. Ventilation holes in the top keep air moving on a hot game day, which matters more than you'd expect with something sitting on your skull. The chin strap uses side-release buckles with an adjustable bungee, so you can lock it down tight and it won't slip when you drop to a crawl. Hook-and-loop padding runs around the inside perimeter — that's your attachment surface for morale patches, a tactical light, or anything else that's velcro-backed.
Who it's for. Players who want the NVG-ready look and capability without spending on a military-surplus Ops-Core or a full hard helmet. Milsim players who need head protection that won't set them back a hundred bucks. It's a skirmish helmet, not a rated impact helmet, so treat it as protection from paintballs and debris rather than a safety helmet.
