A combat shirt solves a problem every player who runs hard knows well: a plain cotton shirt soaks through on the torso and gets heavy, while the sleeves of a ripstop field shirt chafe and dig in when you're moving. The Lancer Tactical Combat Shirt splits the difference. The torso is a soft 92% cotton, 8% spandex knit that stretches with you and breathes. The sleeves are a 50/50 cotton-poly ripstop that stands up to sandbag friction and brush without pulling tight across your shoulders.
What's built in. Elbow pads are sewn into the sleeve lining — not velcro patches, so they don't flap or ride up. The pockets sit on the upper arms and close with zippers, which is the honest trade: they hold a few rounds, a small multi-tool, or a chapstick, but you aren't loading gear there. Adjustable cuffs keep the sleeves from riding up when you run a vest over them, and the torso cut is roomy enough for a plate carrier without bunching at the armpits. It's designed to be worn under a rig.
How it wears. The cotton-spandex torso shrinks a touch if you throw it in a dryer — wash cold and hang dry keeps it honest. The ripstop sleeves are water-resistant and colorfast, so rain won't ruin the fit, but this isn't a rain shell. The tan color is a straightforward desert flat, no special treatment or coating.
Before you buy. This is a single shirt, no vest, no plates, no rig attached. Sizing runs true to Lancer's chart, but if you're between sizes and plan to run a full plate carrier, size up — the torso is stretchy but you want room. Also grab a spare if this is your go-to for a season; the cotton body wears faster than the sleeves and you'll go through them.
