The Gen4 Combat Shirt from Lancer Tactical solves a specific problem: how do you stay comfortable in a plate carrier for six hours straight? The answer is split construction — a torso that actually moves with you and sleeves that survive the field.
What goes where. The torso is 93% cotton with 7% spandex, which gives you that soft, stretchy feel of a good t-shirt while keeping it from riding up when you layer a rig over it. That stretch also reduces bunching under carriers and vests, which is the single biggest comfort upgrade over a traditional BDU shirt. The sleeves are a different material entirely — 50% cotton, 50% polyester — because your forearms take all the abuse: dragging along barriers, scraping through brush, resting on damp ground. They hold up to it.
Pockets and storage. Both sleeves carry utility pockets with zippered and flap closure, so you can grab your nicks, tourniquet, or a spare mag without fumbling. Velcro panels sit above and below those pockets for chevron and flag patches. Wrist cuffs are adjustable, which matters when you're layering over gloves or riding a watch.
Details that show up over a season. The collar zips to about a third of the way down — enough for ventilation without looking sloppy. Reliable zippers are used throughout, which is one less thing to break. Removable EVA elbow pads snap in and out; they're light protection for scrambling without adding permanent bulk. Take them out if you run sleeves rolled, leave them in if you don't.
Fit and sizing. This is a Ranger Green BDU cut in XS. Like all combat shirts, it's designed to fit under gear rather than on top of it — expect a trim torso compared to a standalone BDU shirt. If you're between sizes and plan to run without a carrier, size up.
Includes removable elbow pads.
