Combat shirts have become standard kit for players who spend long sessions on the field, and the Lancer Tactical Gen4 tackles the problem from a practical angle: comfort under body armour without sacrificing sleeve durability.

The fabric splits by zone. The torso is 93% cotton with 7% spandex, so it's soft against the skin and stretches enough to move with you. That stretch is what keeps it from bunching up under a plate carrier or chest rig, and it's the single feature most players notice after putting gear on. The sleeves are a different fabric entirely — 50% cotton and 50% polyester ripstop, which handles abrasion from shooting across barricades and rubbing against walls.

Pockets where you reach. Both sleeves carry utility pockets: the right one is zippered, the left has a flap. That's not decoration — it's the kind of placement you actually use for pens, multi-tool, or a field notebook. Velcro panels sit above the pockets for ID or unit patches, and the cuffs are adjustable with hook-and-loop so you can dial the fit or roll them and secure them.

Collar and vents. The 1/3 zip on the collar lets you open it for ventilation between games or keep it closed when you're running. It's a small detail, but on a hot field it's one of the first things you reach for.

Elbow pads. Removable EVA pads are sewn into the sleeve hem, so you get protection without the bulk of an integrated elbow pad. Take them out if you prefer to run your own hard-shell pads. They're held in with hook-and-loop, so swapping is quick.

Hardware that holds up. YKK zippers throughout. That's the mark buyers look for, and Lancer uses them where zippers exist.

Fit notes. This is a Gen4 BDU fit — modern and slightly tailored rather than boxy. Size XL is the measurement to check against your usual combat shirt size, because tactical apparel sizing varies between brands. The stretch torso is forgiving, but if you're between sizes, going up tends to give a cleaner drape under rigging.
