A combat shirt that actually works as a combat shirt is harder to find than you'd expect. Most players who run plate carriers or chest rigs know the problem: a regular cotton T or jersey bunches, rides up, and fights whatever vest you've got on top. The Lancer Tactical Gen4 Combat BDU Shirt was built to solve exactly that — and then add enough field-ready detail to justify running it for milsim, training, or just a long day on the field where comfort matters.
The torso stretches, the sleeves don't. The body is 93% cotton with 7% spandex, which gives it a soft hand and real flexibility — it moves with your body, sits flat under carriers, and doesn't fight you when you reach or crouch. The sleeves are a different beast entirely: 50% cotton, 50% polyester ripstop, and that's where the real durability lives. The weave takes abrasion from brush and gear, and the fabric dries fast if you end up in wet grass or a downpour.
Pocket placement that makes sense. Upper sleeve pockets give you zippered and flap access, so you can grab a mag or a battery without taking your hand out of position. The Velcro panels on both arms are there for your rank, national flag, or unit patch — real tactical shirt territory rather than a plastic tab slapped on for form. Solid zippers throughout mean you're not gambling on a closure that fails after a season. Adjustable wrist cuffs keep sleeves from riding up or catching on gear.
Elbow pads that aren't an afterthought. Removable pads are in the box, and that's genuinely useful for anyone who drops to one knee frequently — CQB corridors, prone positions, vehicle scenarios. They don't change how the shirt fits when you want them out; the shell is a normal combat shirt if you don't need the armor. You don't have to carry them if you never use them.
Collar ventilation. A 1/3 zip on the collar lets you open it up for airflow on a hot day without removing the shirt or fiddling with a full-zip that bunches under a rig. Simple, effective, and one of those features you only notice when it's missing from the shirt you're currently running.
Who it's for. Players who actually wear plate carriers or chest rigs and are tired of fabric bunching. Milsim folks who want a clean, professional profile that looks right in photos and on the field. Anyone running long sessions where comfort makes the difference between a good day and a miserable one. It's a combat shirt, not a field gun — it won't help you hold an angle, but it won't fight you while you do.
Ships with the shirt and removable elbow pads.
