Most of your face is exposed on field day. Sun, dust, wind, the whole range of things that add up by the third game and nobody notices until they're sore. A shemagh covers the gaps without the bulk of a balaclava.

This is a 44-inch, 100% cotton wrap at 6 oz — standard size, standard weight. You fold it into a triangle, drape it over your head, and wrap it however your face and the weather require. Neck coverage, full face mask, dust wrap, or just a head covering when the sun is bad. There are a dozen ways to tie it; pick one and practice it at home so you don't have to fumble in the staging area.

Cotton breathes, which is the main advantage over synthetic wraps when you're moving hard. It also soaks up sweat and stays heavy when wet, so you're not getting that on a humid day. The black and red colorway is one of the classic two-tone combinations.

It won't stop a direct hit from an airsoft round. A stray BB might glance off the fabric at an angle, but this is clothing, not armor. Wear your proper face protection.
