A shemagh is one of those pieces of gear that sits in your pack until you need it, and then you wonder how you managed without it. The Lancer Tactical version is 100% cotton, 44 inches square, and weighs 6 oz — enough to wrap your head, neck, and face without adding anything you'll notice on your shoulders.
What it's for. Sun protection on an open field, keeping dust and sand out of your mouth when things get moving, warmth on a cold morning before the sun burns off the dew. Players use them for face coverage during skirmish, and they fold into bandanas, neck gaiters, or full head wraps depending on what you need. The red and black checker pattern is the classic shemagh design — high visibility on the field, which matters for safety.
The fabric. Pure cotton, woven in the traditional diamond-check pattern. It breathes, it gets softer with wash, and it doesn't hold heat the way a synthetic would. Trade-off is it's not waterproof — rain soaks right through — and for the same reason it dries quickly when it does get wet. It's field gear, not fashion.
Before you buy. You'll want to practice your fold at home. There are a dozen ways to wear a shemagh, and figuring it out in the parking lot while everyone's waiting to check in is not the ideal time. The 44-inch size is standard — enough wrap for full coverage without so much excess that it flaps around.
Ships as a single shemagh, no accessories or pouches included.
