Running night vision on a skirmish night usually means strapping a mount to your helmet and hoping it holds when you're moving through tight lanes. The TATM gives you a single-point NVG mount that's straightforward, rugged, and cheap enough that you aren't nervous about it taking a hit.
What you get. A tan polymer NVG mount that bolts to a PIP-style comb on the top of your helmet. The mount arm has a standard MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, so it works with any NVG mount, quick-detach bracket, or single-arm riser you already own. There's nothing proprietary here, and no hunting for spares.
Installation. The mount is designed for helmets that accept a PIP (Picatinny Interchangeable Platform) comb — that's the flat, slotted rail section bolted to the top of the helmet. If your helmet already has a comb, the mount bolts on in about five minutes with a wrench or hex key. If your helmet doesn't have one, you'll need a comb kit or a different mounting solution. Check your helmet before you buy.
Build. The base and arm are injection-molded polymer, which keeps weight down and avoids the denting you get with aluminum. The top rail is Picatinny, fully cut and measured, so accessories seat cleanly. It's not the lightest NVG mount on the market, but it's not heavy either, and it holds position under normal use.
What else you need. The package includes only the helmet mount itself — no NVGs, no riser arm, no clamp. If your helmet doesn't have a PIP comb already, you'll need one separately. The mount also doesn't come with mounting hardware if your helmet's comb is a proprietary type rather than a standard four-bolt setup, so check the fit before your first game night.
