The Poseidon CSI XR5 Series stands out in a field full of M4s, AKs, and FAL derivatives. Its angular receiver and distinct lines make it easy to identify at a glance—useful for milsim units that care about what their teammates run.
How it performs. At 370 FPS on 0.20g BBs, the XR5 sits just below the 380–400 FPS cap on most outdoor skirmish fields, meaning you don't have to turn down your spring on arrival. Indoor and CQB fields may ask you to drop it into pistol-class velocity or play with a sidearm, so check your local rules—but on the outdoor field this is a comfortable gun.
Internals that upgrade. The Ver 2 full metal gearbox is the most widely supported shell in airsoft. Gears, pistons, springs, cylinder parts, and shells themselves are off-the-shelf at any parts counter. The long-axis motor fits the M4-pattern receiver grip, and the Ver 2 shell means aftermarket support is broad.
What's built around it. A 363mm inner barrel with adjustable hop-up is a reasonable length for the platform—comfortable to about 150 feet, not a long-range DMR. The adjustable stock runs 790 to 870mm depending on extension, letting you dial in the profile for your play style. The barrel threads 14mm Negative, the airsoft rifle standard, accepting most tracers and mock suppressors.
Magazines and feeding. The included 200-round hi-cap provides sustained fire, but it rattles when you move and needs re-winding during a game—standard hi-cap behavior. The XR5's mags work with other Matrix and CSI XR-5 series guns, and that platform compatibility means spares come from two different product lines rather than a single factory's inventory.
Before you play. The bundle ships with a battery, charger, Deans adapter, and BBs—you can take this to your first game without buying anything else. The included battery will handle a few hours of casual play, but for longer sessions you'll want a second one so you're not tethered to a charger between matches.
Weight and handling. At 7.75 lbs with a full metal gearbox, the XR5 carries like a battle rifle. The heft helps with stability on the field—but it's also a gun for players who don't mind the weight.
Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip. Canadian-compliant variant.
