The Poseidon CSI XR5 looks like nothing else on the field. Its angular, futuristic polymer body turns heads and reads aggressive from distance, but it's built for actual skirmish, not just cosplay. The adjustable length lets you collapse it from 870mm down to 790mm for tight CQB and indoor lanes, or extend it for outdoor play where that extra stock length helps with balance and shoulder fit. At 7.75 lbs it's heavier than the lightest polymer rifles but lighter than a full-metal build, which keeps fatigue down over a long day.
How it runs. Under the receiver sits a full metal Version 2 gearbox. That's the most widely supported shell in airsoft: gears, pistons, springs, and cylinder parts are all off-the-shelf from any aftermarket catalog, so upgrades and replacements never require waiting on a special order. The Ver 2 spring is not quick-change — swapping it means splitting the shell — but for most players the default spring hits the right velocity without touching anything inside.
Velocity and where it fits. Rated 370 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That clears most indoor caps comfortably, and sits at the lower end of what typical outdoor fields allow around 380 to 400. At that velocity you'll be working with a minimum engagement distance on outdoor fields, so the XR5 is best suited for players who mostly play indoors, run short-MED outdoor games, or don't mind playing a bit further back on the field. If your primary environment is an open outdoor skirmish with strict MED rules, something with a higher spring rating makes more sense.
What's built around it. The 363mm inner barrel pairs with an adjustable rotary-style hop-up for tuning range and consistency. The 14mm negative (CCW) threaded barrel accepts standard airsoft muzzle devices: mock suppressors, flash hiders, and BB catchers. A full-length top rail carries optics, a 20mm accessory rail under the handguard takes vertical grips and lights, and side rails round out the attachment options. Flip-up front and rear sights are included for use without a scope.
Magazines and feeding. The rifle ships with a 200-round high-capacity magazine. It works with Matrix, CSI, and other compatible S.T.A.R. XR-5 series magazines — not standard M4 mags, so if you're already deep in the M4 mag ecosystem you'll be buying spares from a narrower shelf. Given the rate of fire a 370 FPS Ver 2 rifle pushes, plan on picking up two or three hi-caps for game day.
Everything you need is in the box. The package includes the Lancer Tactical 11.1V 900mAh LiPO battery, an Intellect Airsoft Deans-to-small-Tamiya adapter cable, and the Lancer Tactical LCD universal balance charger with automatic shutoff. You also get a bag of 3000 0.25g ProSlick seamless BBs. Battery, charger, BBs — the whole starting kit. Most players will want a second battery so they're not tethered to a charger between games.
Canada compliant. The XR5 meets Canadian regulations and ships with the required markings.
Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip.
