SHS's aluminum cylinder head is machined for Tokyo Marui's Next Gen gearboxes, which are dimensionally different from standard Version 2 shells. It seals the front of the cylinder so the air column has nowhere to go but through the nozzle, and it carries the bumper the piston head strikes at the end of its travel. CNC machined aluminum holds its dimensions better than a plastic head will under repeated impact. Check the o-rings when you fit it, since a good head with tired o-rings seals no better than the part you took out.
