SHS's Silent Aluminum Piston Head replaces the stock head on most AEG pistons and puts a damping pad in the path of the impact. That pad absorbs the shock when the piston reaches the end of its travel, so the gun is quieter and less load goes into the head and piston. Because the pad changes the piston assembly's effective length, check the angle of engagement after fitting and again after the gun runs for a while, since the pad compresses slightly in use.
