The spring guide is one of those internal bits that wears faster than almost anything else in a V2 gearbox, and swapping it for an aluminum bearing version is a cheap fix with a real payoff.
The guide is blue aluminum with a Japanese bearing. That bearing lets the spring slide back on its return stroke without grinding against nylon, which reduces heat in the box, cuts wear on the guide itself, and helps the spring compress consistently shot after shot. Stock nylon guides are fine for a few thousand rounds; the aluminum version is what you install when you want the part to outlast the spring.
Weight is negligible at about 1.2 ounces, and the package includes just the guide. You'll want your existing spring and pin, and a small hex key to swap the pin. No tools beyond that are needed.
This fits Classic Army Ver.2 gearboxes. It is not a V2.5 or V3 part — the dimensions differ. If your gearbox is a different shell type, check the pin and tube diameter before ordering.
