5KU Base Cover for 5.1 Hi-Capa Mags (Type 5), Blue

The 5KU base cover is a simple upgrade for 5.1 Hi-Capa magazines: it replaces the stock plastic floorplate with an aluminum one. On a pistol you reload constantly, the base plate takes the most abuse—dropped on concrete, kicked around in a mag pouch, slammed against a bench when you're checking your round count. Aluminum won't deform the way cheap plastic does, and it won't crack if you drop it enough times.

What it does. The base plate keeps the follower from tilting or binding, which is a common failure mode on Hi-Capa mags after heavy use. It also adds a bit of weight low in the magazine, which can help with balance, though that's a secondary effect. The finish resists scratching and keeps the mag looking decent even after a season of use.

Fit and compatibility. This is a Type 5 base, so it fits 5.1 Hi-Capa magazines. It does not fit other platforms—GLOCK mags, P226 mags, or anything that isn't a Hi-Capa follower housing. If your mag already has a metal base plate installed, this won't stack on top; it replaces what's there.

What you get. One base cover. You'll need to swap it out yourself—the mag is not included, and no tools are provided beyond what you'd use to remove the old base plate. A small flathead or a dedicated mag base tool works fine.
