A shotgun changes how you play. You get spread shots that forgive a missed first trigger pull, and the report alone makes players react before their brain processes the shot. You also get slower follow-up, more weight to carry, and the reality of manually pumping between every round. The Atlas Custom Works M870 is for players who want all of that.
It's a pump-action spring shotgun — no gas, no battery, just mechanical simplicity. You pull the trigger, fire, work the forend to eject, load a fresh shell, and go again. The pump action is real metal-on-metal work, not a decorative piece of plastic bolted onto an AEG body. You'll find the rhythm somewhere between your first and second game, and by game three it's automatic.
The velocity sits at 380–400 FPS on 0.20g BBs, which clears most indoor and CQB caps comfortably. Shotguns don't need to run hot — the spread does the heavy lifting. The adjustable hop-up lets you tune trajectory for your venue, and chronoing your shells before first play is still the right call regardless.
Overall length runs from 30 inches collapsed to 35.5 extended, decided by the adjustable stock. Full metal body comes in at 7 lbs — solid, realistic, and heavy enough that your shoulder will tell you when the day is done. If you want lightweight, pick something else.
A Picatinny rail tops the receiver. Mount whatever optics you like, or run irons. Front sling mount is there if you need one. Buckshot with a proper hop-up setting should put you on target out to 60–80 feet indoors. Beyond that, the spread gets so wide that nobody's dodging it anyway.
The bundle adds two items most players buy separately: a bag of 3000 0.25g BBs in shotgun shells, and a clear 20-round speed loader that mounts on the shell tube. Heavier BBs trade a bit of velocity for carry and wind resistance, which is exactly what a shotgun does. The speed loader turns your reload time from a nuisance to a quick pop-and-go between games.
Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip.
