Not a plastic trainer, not a static replica—something with slide travel, blowback recoil, and the manual of arms you actually practice with. The Double Bell DB-784 is that gun in green gas form, built to run as a primary on CQB lanes or as a backup when your rifle goes silent.

What the blowback does for you. Every shot cycles the slide, which simulates recoil and lets you follow through on rapid fire. The grip safety deploys when you mount the pistol correctly, and the thumb safety works as expected. This isn't novelty realism; it's training value. You practice draw, mount, and follow-through the same way you would with a duty weapon, and the muscle carries over.

Velocity and where it fits. Rated 230–250 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That clears most indoor CQB fields, which typically cap around 300 FPS. You will not be competitive on outdoor fields running 380+ caps, and you should not try. This is a close-range pistol, period. Within that envelope, the adjustable hop-up lets you dial in consistency for the distance you actually shoot.

Externals and weight. Full metal slide and lower frame with polymer grips. The metal adds heft, which makes the gun feel substantial but also means it carries heavier than a polymer pistol. The tan grip panels provide a two-tone finish. You get adjustable rear iron sights included.

Internals and upgrades. The GBB mechanism follows standard TM and WE-spec 1911 layouts, so inner barrels, buckings, and blowback seals are interchangeable with common aftermarket parts. A tighter inner barrel and an upgraded GBB bucking will tighten groups. High-flow gas valves improve cycling consistency, especially as the magazine pressure drops.

What you need to run it. Green gas and 6mm BBs are not included. The magazine holds 28 rounds single-stack, which is typical for GBB pistols. Plan on carrying two or three spares if you're running this as a primary. Cold weather reduces gas pressure and can cause failures—this is inherent to green gas, not a defect in the gun.

Before you buy. This is not Canada-compliant. The package includes the pistol, a 28-round green gas magazine, a cleaning rod, and a spare loading nozzle. If you're new to GBBs, expect to break it in over the first few hundred rounds as seals seat and gas flow stabilizes.
