Atlas Custom Works AAP-01 Carbine Kit Type A, Green

The AAP-01 is a great pistol. If you're tired of its short barrel on the field, the Atlas Custom Works Type A Carbine Kit turns it into something that reaches further without adding a second gun to your loadout.

How it fits together. The kit replaces the pistol's grip and lower receiver with a carbine-length frame that runs a straight handguard, carries a top Picatinny rail, and gives you a proper shoulder platform. The AAP-01's own gas system, slide, barrel, and magazine all stay exactly where they are — the pistol becomes the upper of the build. Install it at home with basic tools, then chrono and play.

Material and build. This is CNC 7075 aluminum — receiver, handguard, and buffer tube adapter. It's not a lightweight kit, but 7075 is the go-to alloy for hard-use airsoft parts and it holds up under repeated install-and-remove cycles. The Green colorway is an anodized finish; expect normal wear over a season of play. The kit ships with the carbine assembly only — your AAP-01 pistol is already in your bag.

Mounting and aiming. The handguard carries a full-length Picatinny rail on top with AEG barrel nut spec slots on the sides and bottom. You can run a red dot on top, a forward grip or laser on the side rails, or whatever your setup calls for. No drilling, no tapping — the rail is built in.

Hop-up. The AAP-01 uses a top-adjustable hop-up, so you dial in spin without splitting the receiver. That's a genuinely nice feature for a GBB of this price bracket, and it makes field-tuning your shot pattern quick.

What you need. Green gas or propane with silicone oil, a battery and charger (not included), and ideally a spare gas blowback magazine or two — this conversion uses more gas per fill than the pistol alone, and a full afternoon of skirmishing eats through what comes in the box. A buffer tube and stock of your choice are also needed, as is the AAP-01 pistol itself.

What this isn't. The kit doesn't include the pistol, a buffer tube, a stock, or a battery. You need all of those separately. It's not a speed platform — the AAP-01 is a GBB pistol with a heavy slide, so rate of fire and trigger response won't match a purpose-built carbine, and the weight at the front end is real. This is a build piece for players who already have the pistol and want the carbine look and feel, or who want a GBB rifle that shares mags with the Action Army AAP-01 ecosystem rather than an M4 or AK.
