Pocket pistols are a lot of fun and impossibly easy to slip in a pocket, but they hit two hard walls: short-barrelled pistols can't do much at range, and holding a heavy pistol grip for hours of milsim is no joke. The Atlas Custom Works AAP-01 Carbine Kit Type C solves both by turning the Action Army AAP-01 pistol into a full carbine with a stock, extended handguard, and rail. The AAP-01 is one of the more popular GBB pistol platforms — solid build, deep aftermarket, and cheap enough that a conversion doesn't break the bank — so the parts ecosystem around the result is strong.

What Type C adds. The kit takes the pistol's grip and trigger assembly and transfers them onto a new carbine receiver. The buffer tube extends the gun back to shoulder length, and the full-length handguard carries an AEG barrel nut top rail, which gives you Picatinny mounting for sights, lights, or anything else you want up top. The barrel is extended from the pistol's length, which does the two things a longer barrel is supposed to do: it gives the hop-up more time to set on the BB, and it raises rated velocity by giving the gas column more travel. There's a 14mm CCW thread at the muzzle, so standard airsoft flash hiders and mock suppressors drop right on. The hop-up adjustment moves to the barrel nut, which is more conveniently accessed than the pistol's side-mounted lever — you can reach it without tools or fighting the handguard while making fine-tuning tweaks at the chrono. Type C ships in Green; there's also a black and an FDE version.

Material that matters. The tube, handguard, and barrel sleeve are CNC 7075 aluminum — a tough aerospace alloy that's hard and dent-resistant, the same material used in aftermarket pistol grips and receiver parts across the hobby. The extra mass at the front end helps balance the gun and tames felt recoil a touch, which is a trade-off with pistols that generally run polymer and nothing heavier than a thin aluminum frame.

What you need to make it work. The kit feeds from the same green-gas magazines the pistol already uses, so mag compatibility is a zero. You need a stick-style LiPO that fits the buffer tube compartment, and a Deans-to-small-Tamiya adapter if your battery uses the more common Tamiya connector. Battery and charger are not included, and plan on a second stick for game day. The hop-up adjustment works on the same GBB principle as the pistol itself, so expect comfortable CQB and short-to-mid-range performance depending on your starting FPS. Chrono before your first game, especially if the pistol was already tuned.

Before you buy. The conversion adds noticeable length and a different weight distribution compared to the pistol. If you're used to drawing from a hip holster or riding concealment, this changes the geometry enough that you should install it at home and see how it feels before committing to a carry rig. The buffer tube is adjustable for length of pull — set it where it fits your shoulder and the battery compartment before you lock things down.

Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip.
